Douglas Ranch Camp is an 80+-year old, family owned, traditional coed camp for children ages 7-14, located on 120 acres in Carmel Valley, CA. Its unique 4 to 1 ratio of campers to staff provides individualized attention for each child in a structured program of classes in Western riding, swimming, tennis, archery, riflery and crafts. Counselors from across the US and around the world are chosen for their experience working with children, coaching sports, and having values that make them excellent role models. They help campers build self-confidence and social skills to last a lifetime, while encouraging them to try new experiences in a nurturing environment. Different evening activities from barn dancing to costume parties, luaus and overnight camp-outs, round out the fun! Douglas also offers a long-weekend Family Camp.

At Douglas Ranch Camps, we have been fortunate to enjoy more than a 80 year tradition, under one family ownership, as a top tier private resident and day camp for boys and girls ages 7 through 14. But as you will see, we are also a whole lot more.

Our day-to-day philosophy is built upon three main core values which were instilled by our founder Grace Douglas and are deeply ingrained in our program. By committing ourselves to these values, we strive to provide each camper with:

1. A safe and healthy environment for all our campers, both physically and emotionally, while helping them develop a strong sense of independence, self reliance and strong values.
2. An amazingly fun and positive experience, steeped in structure and emphasized with tradition and camp spirit with a one-to-four ratio of counselor to campers
3. Quality instruction in a structured environment for each age group and ability level where applicable.
