Description:
WHO WE ARE In the late 1990s, Henry Geddes founded Splashlight Studios NYC,
and quickly turned it into one of the nation’s leading fashion photography
studios. Soon, Splashlight NYC was followed by successful studio launches in Los Angeles and Miami.
Splashlight has been revolutionary in the industry, bringing an unprecedented
level of service, professionalism and dedication to new digital technologies
for fashion magazine productions. Splashlight has worked with clients such as CosmoGIRL, Sephora, Vogue, Bergdorf
Goodman, InStyle Magazine, Vanity Fair and Nars Cosmetics to name a few. Now based at Splashlight Miami, Geddes has taken his longtime
experience in the exciting world of fashion and developed a unique, weeklong
behind-the-scenes experience for those who aspire to work in the fashion
industry. Fashion Image Camp will debut in the summer of 2008, with industry
professionals demonstrating first-hand and hands-on how the images seen in
fashion magazines today are created.
In the course of
one week, students will experience each step in creating a fashion photo shoot,
start to finish. Their day will start with an in-depth talk from a different
industry professional; then, they’ll be given the chance to use their new
knowledge in a hands-on project. The projects build on each other through the
week, up to an actual, full-scale professional photo shoot. In exciting,
real-life teaching situations, students will learn what it’s like to be in
front of and behind the camera, and will finish camp with their own portfolio –
one they created and starred in.
